Symphonie No. 1
Album by Johannes Brahms & London Philharmonic Orchestra & Eugen Jochum
Symphony No. 1 in C minor, Op. 68 is the first symphony by the German composer Johannes Brahms, completed in 1876. Combining late-Romantic orchestral breadth with classical sonata forms, the work features expansive thematic development, dense harmonic textures and dramatic climaxes, and it marked the consolidation of Brahms's mature compositional voice within the 19th-century symphonic tradition.
