Les Quatre Saisons
Album by Antonio Vivaldi & Hervé Le Floch & Les Solistes de France & Jean-Claude Hartemann
Les Quatre Saisons is a set of four violin concertos by Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi, published in 1725 as part of his Op. 8 collection. The works belong to the Baroque concerto repertoire and are characterised by virtuosic solo violin writing contrasted with orchestral ritornellos and vivid programme depictions of seasonal scenes, forming an important example of early programme music in Vivaldi's output and in 18th-century musical practice.
