Serenades No. 10 & 12

Album by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart & Wiener Philharmoniker & Berliner Philharmoniker & Karl Böhm

Serenades No. 10 and No. 12 are orchestral serenades by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed in the early 1780s. Both works exemplify the classical serenade idiom with prominent wind and string textures, contrasting slow lyrical movements with lively dances, and they sit within Mozart's middle-period output as extended divertimenti that broadened his ensemble writing and orchestral colour.
