Symphony No. 7 is the seventh symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven, composed in 1811–1812 and first performed in 1813. The work draws on the classical symphonic tradition and is characterised by a persistent rhythmic drive, dance-like metres and bold orchestration, occupying a central place in Beethoven's middle-period output as a bridge between his earlier classical influences and his later experimental compositions.
