Fontessa
Album by The Modern Jazz Quartet
Fontessa is an album by American jazz group the Modern Jazz Quartet, released in 1956. The record is rooted in jazz with chamber-music sensibilities, with restrained dynamics, careful arrangements, subtle melodic lines and tight interplay between vibraphone, piano, bass and drums, and it came as the group shifted from small-group bebop toward a more composed, classically informed approach in their career.
