Symphonies Nos. 40 & 41 "Jupiter"

Album by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart & Herbert Blomstedt & Staatskapelle Dresden

Symphonies Nos. 40 & 41 "Jupiter" are two symphonies by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed in 1788. They exemplify Mozart's late Classical style, featuring Classical-era orchestration, concentrated thematic development, dramatic minor/major contrasts and increased contrapuntal complexity in the final movements, and they occupy a position among his last symphonic works that helped shape the late Classical symphonic idiom.
