Symphonie Nr. 2 D-Dur, op. 43

Album by Jean Sibelius & Berliner Philharmoniker & Okko Kamu

Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 43 is a symphony by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, completed and first performed in 1902. The work employs late-Romantic orchestral language characterised by expansive melodies, rich string and brass textures, and concentrated thematic development with national Romantic influences, and it marks a consolidation of Sibelius's mature symphonic voice at the turn of the 20th century.
First released: 1970
