This is a compilation album of orchestral works by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, composed between 1870 and 1892. The music is rooted in the Romantic tradition, with sweeping melodies, rich orchestration, prominent brass and percussion passages and dance-derived rhythms that show Tchaikovsky's shift from early lyricism to later dramatic colour.
