Symphonies Nos. 8 & 9 are the eighth and ninth symphonies by Austrian composer Anton Bruckner, completed in 1887 (No. 8) and 1896 (No. 9). Both works exemplify Bruckner's late-Romantic style with expansive, cathedral-like structures, dense brass and string writing, and an emphasis on large-scale thematic development, with the Ninth left unfinished at his death and representing the culmination of his late-period symphonic thought.
