Les Derniers Quatuors = The Last String Quartets Op. 77 & 103 is a collection of late string quartets by Joseph Haydn, composed around 1799 (Op. 77) and circa 1803 (Op. 103). Musically these works reflect Haydn's mature Classical language, with concentrated forms, contrapuntal textures and adventurous harmonic turns that expand the expressive range of the string quartet and mark a late phase in his chamber-music output that points towards early Romantic tendencies.
