Tosca is an opera in three acts by Italian composer Giacomo Puccini, premiered in Rome in 1900. Musically, Tosca combines late-Romantic orchestration and verismo dramatic realism with lyrical vocal writing and vivid orchestral colour, and it followed La bohème as part of Puccini's mature operatic output at the turn of the 20th century.
