Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125, "Choral" is the ninth symphony by German composer Ludwig van Beethoven, completed and first performed in 1824. The work uses a large orchestra together with vocal soloists and a chorus in the final movement, and it introduces sung text into the symphonic form; it was written in the composer's late period and broadened the expressive and formal possibilities of the genre.
