Symphonie no. 4

Symphony No. 4 is the fourth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1900 and premiered in 1901. Musically it is relatively compact and transparent compared with his larger-scale symphonies, blending late-Romantic orchestral colour with chamber-like textures and concluding with a soprano solo that presents a child's vision, marking a transitional point in Mahler's move toward more song-influenced symphonic writing.
