Der Tod und das Mädchen; Quartettsatz is a pair of chamber music works by Austrian composer Franz Schubert, composed in 1824 and 1820 respectively. The Death and the Maiden quartet is a late string quartet with a sombre main theme and sharp dynamic contrasts, while the Quartettsatz is an earlier, incomplete C minor movement with a terse, stormy character that points toward his later chamber writing.
