Sonates pour violon et piano
Album by Béla Bartók & Yehudi Menuhin & Jeremy Menuhin
Sonates pour violon et piano is a set of violin sonatas by Hungarian composer Béla Bartók, composed between 1908 and 1922. The works combine late-Romantic virtuosity with emerging modernist techniques, featuring folk-influenced melodies, modal and dissonant harmonies and complex rhythms, and they document Bartók's transition from his early tonal language to the more austere modernist idiom of his middle period.
