Symphony No. 1 and Symphony No. 2 are orchestral works by Ludwig van Beethoven, first performed in 1800 and 1803 respectively. Both employ Classical-era forms and textures while expanding orchestration, rhythmic drive and harmonic exploration that point towards Beethoven's later, more individual style and the emerging Romantic idiom.
