Symfonie Č. 9 is the ninth symphony by Gustav Mahler, completed in 1909 and premiered in 1912. A late-Romantic orchestral work characterised by expansive structures, intricate orchestration and stark contrasts between lyrical slow movements and turbulent fast passages, it addresses themes of mortality and farewell and represents the culmination of Mahler's late compositional style as his last completed symphony.
