Violin Concerto / Double Concerto
Album by Johannes Brahms & Академический симфонический оркестр Московской филармонии & Kirill Kondrashin & David Fiodorovich Oistrakh & Mstislav Rostropovich
Violin Concerto / Double Concerto is a collection of two orchestral concertos by German composer Johannes Brahms, composed in 1878 and 1887. Both works are rooted in the Romantic orchestral tradition, combining expansive, symphonic violin writing with dense harmonic textures and contrapuntal complexity, and they represent important stages in Brahms's mature instrumental output.
