The Messenger is the second studio album by American jazz vocalist Kurt Elling, released in 1997. It has modern jazz arrangements, vocalese and balladry with Elling's baritone and phrasing set against small-group acoustic accompaniment, and it followed his debut to continue his early development as a jazz singer.
