Symphony No. 1 'Titan' is a symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1888. Combining late-Romantic orchestration with elements drawn from folk music and programme-inspired motifs, the work features expansive movements, striking dynamic contrasts and innovative orchestral colour, and it represents Mahler's early establishment of a large-scale symphonic voice in the transition towards twentieth-century symphonic writing.
