The Seasons

The Seasons is an oratorio by Austrian composer Joseph Haydn, completed and first performed in 1801. The work features substantial choral and orchestral forces and blends pastoral, descriptive and programme elements to portray the cycle of the year, occupying a late position in Haydn's output as one of his major large-scale vocal-orchestral compositions.
