Lieutenant Kijé Suite, op. 60 etc.
Album by Sergei Sergeyevich Prokofiev & Los Angeles Philharmonic & Michael Tilson Thomas
Lieutenant Kijé Suite, Op. 60 is an orchestral suite by the Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev, written in 1934 as music for a Soviet film and later arranged for concert performance. The score combines neoclassical clarity, ironic humour and lyrical melody with colourful orchestration, and it occupies a notable place in Prokofiev's output as an example of his theatrical and film writing of the 1930s.
