Violin Concertos nos. 1 and 2
Album by Béla Bartók & Thomas Zehetmair & Budapest Festival Orchestra & Iván Fischer
Violin Concertos nos. 1 and 2 are two violin concertos by Hungarian composer Béla Bartók, composed in 1908 and 1938 respectively. They are rooted in late-Romantic and modernist language with strong folk influences and mix virtuosic solo passages with complex orchestral writing, the first coming from Bartók's early period and the second from his later, more modernist phase.
