Symphony no. 2 “Resurrection”
Album by Gustav Mahler & Harold Farberman & Royal Philharmonic Orchestra & Felicity Lott & Helen Watts & Brighton Festival Chorus
Symphony No. 2 'Resurrection' is the second symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1894. The work combines late-Romantic orchestral forces with chorus and vocal soloists to expand traditional symphonic form through programme-like thematic development, dramatic contrasts and large-scale orchestration, marking a decisive development in Mahler's career and in the late nineteenth-century symphonic tradition.
