Symphony no. 4 in G major
Album by Gustav Mahler & Eduard van Beinum & Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest & Margaret Ritchie
Symphony No. 4 in G major is the fourth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1901. Musically it sits within the late-Romantic symphonic tradition but favours lighter, more transparent orchestration and more classical proportions than Mahler's preceding large-scale works, concluding with a soprano solo that integrates vocal song elements into the symphonic framework.
