The Moldau
Album by Bedřich Smetana & Wiener Philharmoniker & James Levine
The Moldau is a symphonic poem by Czech composer Bedřich Smetana, composed in 1874. The orchestral work uses flowing melodies and varied instrumental colours to depict the course of a river and occupies a central place in Smetana's later output and in the development of national Romantic music in Bohemia.
