The New Sounds is a 10-inch LP by American jazz trumpeter Miles Davis, released in 1951. The music mixes bebop-era improvisation with a quieter, more melodic approach to trumpet and ensemble playing, and it is early in Davis's career as he moved from bebop towards the cooler styles he later explored.
