Symphony no. 6 "Tragic"
Album by Gustav Mahler & New York Philharmonic & Leonard Bernstein
Symphony No. 6 in A minor, nicknamed "Tragic", is the sixth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, composed in 1903–04. The work is a large-scale orchestral symphony rooted in late-Romantic harmony and instrumentation, marked by dramatic contrasts, rhythmic drive and brooding passages, and it occupies a central place in Mahler's middle-period output as he expanded orchestral forces and experimented with structural form.
