Symphony No. 8 (9) "The Great"
Album by Franz Schubert & Riccardo Muti & Wiener Philharmoniker
Symphony No. 8 in B minor, D. 759, commonly called the 'Great', is a symphony by Austrian composer Franz Schubert, composed in 1825–1826. The work features expansive orchestration, extended thematic development and a blend of Classical structural principles with early Romantic harmonic and melodic language, and it is one of Schubert's last large-scale orchestral works that helps to bridge Classical and Romantic symphonic traditions.
