The Six Cello Suites are a set of six suites for unaccompanied cello by Johann Sebastian Bach, composed between 1717 and 1723. They are written in the Baroque style, use dance movements and polyphonic writing to explore the solo cello's range and technical possibilities, and they form a major part of Bach's instrumental output and of the cello repertoire.
