Symphonies Nos. 6 and 7 are orchestral works by Ludwig van Beethoven, premiered in 1808 and 1813 respectively. Musically, the Sixth employs descriptive gestures and slower tempi to evoke rural landscapes and natural scenes while the Seventh emphasises rhythmic vitality and dance-like movements, and together they signal a shift in Beethoven's middle period towards more overtly expressive, early-Romantic approaches to form and orchestration.
