Symphonies nos. 40 and 41 "Jupiter"

Album by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart & English Baroque Soloists & Sir John Eliot Gardiner

Symphonies Nos. 40 and 41, 'Jupiter', are two symphonic works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed in 1788. Rooted in the Classical style, they contrast the stormy, minor-key intensity and urgent rhythms of No. 40 with the expansive orchestration and contrapuntal, thematically dense finale of No. 41, and they stand among Mozart's final completed symphonies, illustrating features of his late orchestral writing.
