Roman Trilogy
Album by Ottorino Respighi & The United States Air Force Band & Col. Lowell E. Graham
The Roman Trilogy is a set of three orchestral tone poems by Italian composer Ottorino Respighi, composed between 1916 and 1928. The works employ rich orchestral colour, vivid programme writing and impressionistic harmonies to evoke scenes of Rome, and they represent an important phase in Respighi's career that contributed to the modernisation of Italian orchestral writing in the early 20th century.
