The Flute Quartets

Album by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart & Barthold Kuijken & Sigiswald Kuijken & Lucy van Dael & Wieland Kuijken

The Flute Quartets are a set of chamber works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed between 1777 and 1791. Scored for flute with violin, viola and cello, they combine Classical-era clarity, graceful melodic writing and intimate chamber textures, showcasing conversational interplay between the solo wind and the strings and reflecting Mozart's occasional work for amateur performers within his chamber-music output.
