Serenade no. 1 / Serenade no. 2

Album by Johannes Brahms & Linos Ensemble

Serenade No. 1 and Serenade No. 2 are orchestral compositions by Johannes Brahms, completed in 1858 and 1859 respectively. They are rooted in classical and early Romantic orchestral models, with lyrical wind writing and transparent textures that combine chamber-like intimacy with broader orchestral colour, and they were written in Brahms's early period before his First Symphony.
