Pictures at an Exhibition is a piano suite by Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky, composed in 1874. The work consists of a sequence of character pieces linked by recurring march-like interludes, blending Romantic harmonies, folk-inspired melodies and vivid piano textures, and it has been widely adapted for orchestra and other ensembles, giving it a lasting presence in late 19th-century Russian musical repertoire.
