Symphony no. 7
Album by Gustav Mahler & Budapest Festival Orchestra & Iván Fischer
Symphony No. 7 is the seventh symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1905. The work spans five movements and is scored for a large orchestra whose expanded brass and percussion forces and unusual additions such as guitar and mandolin produce contrasting nocturnal atmospheres, marches and scherzo-like passages that continue Mahler's exploration of extended symphonic form in the later part of his career.
