Wannabe

The debut single by English girl group the Spice Girls was released in 1996. Musically it blends upbeat dance-pop and bubblegum-pop elements with rap-inflected spoken delivery and singalong hooks, and it served as the group's breakthrough release that helped catalyse a late-1990s resurgence of mainstream British pop and a more overtly marketed girl-group identity.
