New World Symphony

Album by Antonín Dvořák & Chicago Symphony Orchestra & Fritz Reiner

The Symphony No. 9 in E minor, From the New World, is a symphony by Czech composer Antonín Dvořák, completed in 1893. Composed during Dvořák's time in the United States, it combines Romantic orchestral writing with influences drawn from American musical idioms and Czech folk elements, and marks a key moment in his career in which he synthesised national styles with wider international influences.
