Symphonie Nr. 8 c-moll (Erstfassung) is the first version of Anton Bruckner's Symphony No. 8 in C minor, composed in 1887. The work exemplifies Bruckner's late-Romantic orchestral language, with expansive, large-scale movements, dense harmonic and contrapuntal textures, prominent brass writing and sweeping dynamic contrasts, and it occupies a central place in his output as his final completed symphony that synthesises his mature techniques.
