The Nutcracker Suite is an orchestral suite by Пётр Ильич Чайковский, composed in 1892. The music draws on dance forms and Romantic-era orchestration with varied instrumentation, lyrical melodies and colourful textures, and it occupies an important place among Tchaikovsky's late-ballet works as an example of his ballet writing.
