Album by Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff & John Scott & The Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys & Ory Brown & David Vanderwal
All-Night Vigil (Vespers) is a choral composition by Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff, completed in 1915. Rooted in Russian Orthodox liturgical texts and chant, the work features dense, sonorous choral writing with prominent low bass parts and expansive, hymn-like textures, representing a late-career turn to sacred music in Rachmaninoff's output and exerting notable influence on twentieth-century Russian choral repertoire.
