The Three Violin Sonatas
Album by Johannes Brahms & Tasmin Little & Piers Lane
The Three Violin Sonatas is a set of three violin sonatas by German composer Johannes Brahms, composed between 1878 and 1888. Rooted in Romantic chamber music, they feature lyrical violin writing entwined with rich pianistic textures, expansive harmonic language and contrapuntal clarity, and represent Brahms's mature chamber style from the late period of his career.
