Album by Gustav Mahler & Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest & Rafael Kubelík

Symphony No. 5 in C-sharp minor is a symphony by Gustav Mahler, completed in 1902. The five-movement late-Romantic work employs a large orchestra with wide dynamic contrasts, intricate counterpoint and abrupt mood shifts from sombre funeral-march passages to an exuberant finale, and it represents Mahler's first purely instrumental symphony, marking a turning point in his compositional focus.
