Symphonies no. 40 / no. 41 ‘Jupiter’
Album by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart & English Chamber Orchestra & Jeffrey Tate
Symphonies No. 40 and No. 41 'Jupiter' are orchestral works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed in 1788. Both works are rooted in the Classical style and combine formal sonata structures with vivid wind and string writing, moving between turbulent passages and lyrical calm and belonging to the late phase of Mozart's output, where he used denser harmony and richer orchestral colour.
