Pianos Concertos no. 2 & 4

Album by Ludwig van Beethoven & Maurizio Pollini & Wiener Philharmoniker & Eugen Jochum & Karl Böhm

Piano Concertos No. 2 and No. 4 are two piano concertos by Ludwig van Beethoven, composed around 1795 and 1806 respectively. They illustrate Beethoven's development from his Classical roots towards a more individual and dramatic voice, blending classical concerto forms with expanded orchestral textures, expressive piano writing and an increased emphasis on the dialogue between soloist and orchestra.
