Symphonie No. 2
Album by Johannes Brahms & Wiener Philharmoniker & Carlo Maria Giulini
Symphony No. 2 is the second symphony by German composer Johannes Brahms, composed in 1877. The work exemplifies late Romantic orchestral writing with warm pastoral themes, prominent horn and string chorales and expansive lyrical development, and it occupies a place in Brahms's career as a more pastoral counterpart to his First Symphony, consolidating his mature symphonic voice.
