The Four Seasons
Album by Antonio Vivaldi & Bernard Lanner & London Chamber Orchestra
The Four Seasons is a set of four violin concertos by the Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi, published in 1725. The concertos exemplify Baroque concerto form and early programme music, using vivid rhythmic gestures, distinctive melodic motifs and solo violin virtuosity to evoke seasonal and natural scenes, and they occupy a central place in Vivaldi's output and in the Baroque instrumental repertoire.
