The Yeomen of the Guard
Album by W.S. Gilbert & Arthur Sullivan
The Yeomen of the Guard is a comic opera by W. S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan, first performed in 1888. The score mixes light patter and lyrical passages with darker harmonic colour and more serious dramatic moments, and it is one of the later Savoy operas that shows a move toward greater emotional depth in Gilbert and Sullivan's work.
