Album by Franz Schubert & Amadeus Quartet
The String Quartet in G major, D.887, is the fifteenth string quartet by Austrian composer Franz Schubert, written in 1826. The work is a late-period chamber piece that uses expansive lyrical themes alongside abrupt harmonic turns and denser textures, and it was composed near the end of Schubert's life when his instrumental writing grew in scale.
